“I’ve closed the old Bea-door and opened a new one.”
When life gives you lemons, you tend to suck on them and sour. You have a lot on your plate and it’s not what you ordered. Bam! Kicked back to square one, you wallow in what went wrong and have no interest in the present moment. All you want to do is eat and sleep, and working life out is a frigging nightmare. However, pessimism prevents you from noticing what can go right. Don’t let let the past rope you in. Set a time limit for self-pity, then rip the skin off and move forward. Forgiveness releases yourself and others from blame and disappointment. You did the best you could under the circumstances, and wisdom in the present comes from past mistakes. The hardest work is changing the insides and getting to the mental place where you know you’re going to be okay. Have faith that new opportunities are waiting for you, but only when you’re ready.
